Amber Liqueur - a legend is born…
Amber Liqueur's humble beginnings date back to the 1960 vintage and it proudly flaunts its pedigree exhibiting a richness and depth of flavours with bold rancio characters mellowed by the years. Careful blending ensures a balance of flavours in a liqueur that is sweet but finishes cleanly. Such a unique liqueur deserves its own unique bottle crafted to enhance the autumn tonings of the fine wine within.
And, as with all fine wines, Amber Liqueur is in limited supply so the wise will get in early to take advantage of the future gains as value of the liqueur faithfully increases while those who hesitate will be left wondering.
This fine Swan Valley product gives a new definition to class and effectively sums up the Murfit family's proud viticultural history in the Swan District Wine Region and a tribute to the talents of their pioneers.
The region's climate is right, the soil is fertile and cool clear water is in abundance. The ancient Swan Valley on the flood plains has rich alluvial loam up to 40 feet deep built up over milleniums as it washed down in flood time from the fertile topsoil of the Avon River catchment which covers thousands of square kilometres.
The oldest of the Murfit family's liqueur stocks started at the Glenalwyn Winery in the Swan Valley pioneered by renowned winemaker George Pasalich who established the winery in 1929. George won many prestigious awards.
Along with the purchase of the winery by the Murfit family in 1988 came all of the Pasalich maturing liqueurs. The Murfits continued the tradition of 'laying down' liqueurs in selected years when the grapes exceeded 20 baume in sweetness. This resulted in generous wines exhibiting natural exotic flavours.
And now, the best of those maturing liqueurs have been combined in one final wonderful blend spanning almost half a century and three generations of the Murfit family. It is indeed a true collectors item. Exquisitely bottled and packaged it also makes a perfect gift for those who expect the best and the Murfit family extends a warm personal invitation to you to own a part of the family's history.
